Becky's Pet Care is currently looking for Pet Care Specialists specifically in the Ashburn, Brambleton, Broadlands, Sterling, Reston, and Herndon areas to help us care for pets throughout these communities.

We are currently hiring for two types of availability:

• Weekday Pet Care Specialists - consistent Monday-Friday availability
• Weekend Pet Care Specialists - consistent Saturday and/or Sunday availability

$200 Hiring Bonus

We're currently offering a $200 hiring bonus for Pet Care Specialists hired for this service area! New team members who successfully complete their first 90 days of employment will receive a $200 bonus.

Bonus is subject to applicable taxes and payroll deductions.

We especially need team members who are comfortable caring for cats. Our Pet Care Specialists care for dogs, cats, and other household pets, and candidates for these openings must be able to work in homes with cats and provide hands-on cat care in addition to caring for dogs. Whether you're looking for consistent weekday work, a fun way to make extra money on the weekends, or simply a part-time job that keeps you moving, outside, and spending time with animals, this could be a great fit.

You'll work independently, travel between clients' homes in your assigned service area, and have ownership over managing your daily route while providing reliable, professional care to pets and their families.

What You'll Do

• Visit clients' homes to care for their pets.
• Walk dogs and provide exercise, play, companionship, feeding, and fresh water.
• Provide hands-on care for cats as well as dogs and other household pets.
• Follow detailed client instructions for each pet and home.
• Keep pets safe and secure during every visit.
• Enter clients' homes respectfully and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Review your schedule and client information before each visit.
• Check in and out of visits using our mobile app.
• Complete Pet Care Journals with detailed updates and photos after each visit.
• Complete assigned visits within the client's requested time window.
• Manage your time and route efficiently throughout the day.
• Communicate with Operations when questions, concerns, or unexpected situations arise.
• Use your training, experience, and good judgment to independently handle routine situations.
• Recognize when a situation requires additional support and communicate promptly when escalation is needed.
• Follow all safety procedures, company policies, leash laws, and pet-care protocols.
• Maintain the tools and supplies needed for each visit.
• Complete all required training and stay current on company procedures.
• Provide a professional, friendly experience for every client and pet.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Schedule

We are currently hiring for both weekday and weekend positions.

Weekday Pet Care Specialists

Consistent Monday-Friday availability is required. You must be available for a minimum of 6 hours per weekday.

Available scheduling windows include:

• Morning: 6:00 AM-12:00 PM
• Midday: 10:00 AM-4:00 PM
• Evening: 4:00 PM-10:00 PM

Weekend Pet Care Specialists

You must be available for a minimum of 6 hours per weekend, with consistent Saturday and/or Sunday availability.

Available scheduling windows include:

• Morning: 6:00 AM-12:00 PM
• Midday: 12:00 PM-6:00 PM
• Closing: 4:00 PM-10:00 PM

Your specific schedule will be based on your availability and business needs.

Working Independently

All Becky's Pet Care Specialists are expected to work independently. You will be responsible for managing your assigned visits, traveling between clients' homes, following care instructions, documenting your work, and providing excellent care without a supervisor physically accompanying you.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable owning their workday, using good judgment, and handling routine situations independently while also knowing when to reach out for support.

Because Operations support is more limited on weekends, Weekend Pet Care Specialists should be especially confident and self-sufficient and comfortable relying on their training, experience, resources, and good judgment.

What You Bring

Previous hands-on experience with animals is strongly preferred. Ideal candidates have experience caring for or handling pets through previous employment, volunteering, personal pet care, veterinary work, rescue, training, grooming, shelter work, or another animal-related setting.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine love and respect for animals.
• Is comfortable working with and providing hands-on care for cats.
• Has hands-on experience caring for or handling pets.
• Is confident safely handling and walking dogs of varying sizes, breeds, energy levels, and temperaments.
• Is comfortable working independently and managing responsibilities without constant supervision.
• Can confidently follow detailed pet and home-care instructions.
• Has strong judgment and can make responsible decisions when unexpected situations arise.
• Is dependable and understands that pets and their owners are counting on them to show up.
• Has strong communication skills and responds promptly when communication is needed.
• Is organized and able to manage multiple visits throughout the day.
• Has a reliable, insured vehicle for traveling between clients' homes.
• Has a valid driver's license.
• Has a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Because Pet Care Specialists travel between clients' homes throughout their shifts, candidates who live in or near these communities are strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

This is an active job. You should be comfortable walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and using your hands throughout the day. You must be able to lift, move, pull, or push a minimum of 25 pounds. You will work primarily in clients' homes and outdoors and may be exposed to heat, cold, rain, snow, and other seasonal weather conditions.
